Les Strickland has been a great asset to the community of Breckenridge for many years.

While his professional vocation is a real estate home inspector, he works to make a difference in the lives of others through his many volunteer associations.  As a United States Marine Corps veteran, he serves with the American Volunteer Reserves (AVR) providing military honors for veterans.  He is an Elder and Trustee in the First Presbyterian Church; a Board member of the Friends of Historic Breckenridge; a weekly volunteer for Meals on Wheels; and a regular blood donor at Rotary Blood Drives.
Les became a member of the Rotary Club of Breckenridge in 2013 and immediately became an enthusiastic member helping with the flag route, Salvation Army Bell Ringing, and Blood Drives.  He was elected Club President for the 2015-2016 year.  During this year, the club enjoyed an increase in membership and participated in community events like Trade Days and Frontier Days.  The Rotary dunking booth at Frontier Days was a first for the club and lots of fun for all.  Les involved the Club in local service projects
with the Lion’s Club to repaint the ‘Welcome Breckenridge’ signs for the city and build wheelchair ramps through the Texas Ramp Project.
With Les’ leadership, the Club established a website, a Facebook page, and a new brochure to better market the Breckenridge Club.
During his tenure, the Club received the Presidential Citation, the District Governor’s Citation, and the Club Service Award.
Les Strickland is a Paul Harris Fellow and a very dedicated Rotarian deserving of the prestigious Rotary Builder Award
