Coleman Rotary has a proud tradition of Youth Services including recognizing outstanding achievements of Coleman High School Students. Our service projects also include a successful Reach Out and Read Program done in partnership with a local rural health clinic.

The Coleman Rotary Club is continuing our tradition of honoring one senior boy and one senior girl from Coleman ISD each month as the Rotary Student of the Month.  The students are nominated and chosen by selected members of the Coleman High School staff.  The chosen students are invited to attend our weekly lunch meetings, interact with Rotarians and learn more about the history and operations of Rotary International.  In May, the Coleman Rotary Club hosts a dinner banquet to honor all of the students of the month and to award college scholarships to the class valedictorian, along with the Rotary Boy and Girl of the Year – chosen by a Rotarian vote from the students of the month.
The Coleman Rotary Club also continues to work on partnering with the local rural health clinic to develop a Reach Out and Read program in Coleman County.  This program encourages physicians to prescribe books at regular pediatric visits and emphasizes the importance of families reading together to advocate childhood literacy.  Our club is passionate about improving basic education and literacy in our community, along with supporting the pursuit of higher education.  Our fundraising efforts have included holiday wreath sales and private donations to further these causes.
