Daria Truanova, Intern from Russia Spend Summer
Learning Business American Practices
Daria learning the Ropes of Hotel Management
The Flower Mound Rotary Club was honored to have a Russian Intern, Daria Truanova, with us this summer.  She was sponsored on behalf of the Baikal International Business School, University of Irkutsk, Russia.

The objective of this exchange is to expose business students to business practices in a western democracy under Rotary oversight. The goal of the internship is threefold: 1) to make Russian business students familiar with ethical business practices in a free market economy, 2) to immerse them in your culture and language, 3) to get them exposed to volunteering and social responsibility in action through Rotary and its activities as a service organization. Daria was with us for 6 weeks.  She worked in Dr. Jacki Davis Herr’s office with her office managers for two weeks learning how to run a medical office. She finished at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lewisville for her last two weeks working with the management staff and learning what it takes to run a hotel.

She had two wonderful host families, Sean Kellerher and Julie Meyer, which took her to Austin and Galveston.  She visited the museums in both Dallas and Fort Worth.   This is a unique program and we were happy to have participated in for the second year.  It is with heavy hearts that we have to take our new found Russian friend to the airport this morning to say goodbye.  Daria will always have a place in our hearts and will always be welcome with open arms in the Flower Mound Rotary Club.
