I am pleased to announce that Chris McLucas, from the Rotary Club of Arlington Sunrise, has been selected to be District Governor 2017-2018.  Chris is an outstanding Rotarian who is passionate about Rotary and especially the eradication of Polio.  Please join me in congratulating Chris on his achievement.

BIOGRAPHY
Christopher J. McLucas got acquainted with Rotary as a result of participating in his first Polio National Immunization Day (“NID”) in Kolkata (Calcutta), India as a Non-Rotarian in 2004.  This service led to him joining Rotary  and he has completed eleven (11) years of service.   He has returned to India 7 times in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 1012, and 2014 for other Polio NIDs.  Christopher has also participated in the NID in Abuja, Nigeria in 2010 while attending the Inaugural World Polio Summit.  Christopher has participated in several Rotary projects in foreign countries including but not limited to Honduras, Mexico, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Haiti, India, Brazil, Turkey, Ukraine, and Kenya as well as contributed as the International Partner on other Global Grants.  Christopher, while President-Elect 2009-2010 completed a Matching Grant for two ambulances to Leon, Guanajuato Mexico and that experience got him hooked on the International aspect of Rotary.  Christopher in his support and dedication to the eradication of Polio participated in Polio immunizations in all four of the then, endemic countries (Nigeria, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India) while President of his Rotary Club.
Chris is a Past President President of the Arlington Sunrise Rotary Club, serving in 2010-2011.  He is also a Past District Assistant Governor for District 5790.  He currently serves the as the District Service and Public Relations Chair for District 5790 for 2014-2016.  Currently He also serves as the District 5790 Coordinator for International Fellowship of Scouting Rotarians.  In addition, he is a lifetime member of Water and Sanitation Rotary Action Group “WASRAG” . Chris has also served as the Charter President of the District 5790 Rotary Alumni Association.  Chris has served for eight years as a trainer for Rotary Lone Star P.E.T.S. on various topics including Membership, Foundation, Media, and Fund Raising.  He is on the operating committee as the Audio Visual Coordinator for Rotary Lone Star P.E.T.S.  He also serves as the Webmaster for the Lone Star P.E.T.S. organization.  Christopher has participated as a representative for Lone Star P.E.T.S. and a presenter for the P.E.T.S. Alliance in Evanston at the yearly meeting.  He is the Webmaster and Registrar for Rotary Multi-District Training Institute (RMDTI).  He has attended three Rotary International Conventions. Christopher is an Arch Klumph Society Member to the Rotary Foundation, a Benefactor, a Paul Harris Society Member, and a Fourth Level Bequest Society Member.
 Christopher holds Associates, Bachelor, and Masters Degrees.
Outside of Rotary, Christopher owns a National Title Insurance Agency licensed in 40 states in the USA as well as several other successful businesses.  He has been an Adjunct Professor for sixteen (16) years at Dallas County Community College teaching Contract and Tort Law.  He previously taught as an Adjunct Professor at UTA teaching Statistics and Criminological Theory.  Christopher was the 2015-2016 Board Chairman of the Boys and Girls Club of North Central Texas, and a supporter of Arlington Life Shelter.  Christopher is an Eagle Scout and a United States Marine.  Christopher has a great family beginning with his significant other, fellow Rotarian, Reyna and their children Olivia Rose (2), Aryel (9), Clayton (20), Laura (26) and Kalie (24) and grandson Banner (1).
