What is a Rotary Action Group?

A Rotarian Action Group is an autonomous group of Rotarians, family members, program participants and alumni who are experts in a particular field, such as micro-credit or water and sanitation. Group members share their expertise by collaborating with clubs and districts on service projects.

Why Join?

Most join because they have a particular interest in what that particular Rotary Action Group is supporting and the projects they may be doing. But mostly, because we are Rotarians. The January theme for Rotary International is Vocations. As Rotarians we promote recognition and respect for all occupations which are useful to society. All of us have vocations that might be useful to a Rotary Action Group.

It would be great if every member joined a Rotary Action Group to promote projects in their area of interest or expertise. Lewisville Morning Rptarian Traci Pettiway joined the Mental Health RAG because of her expertise in that area. LMR club secretary Marilyn Pokorny joined the diabetes group because if her personal experience with the disease and her desire to share what she has learned. Personally, I am a member of the Water and Sanitation RAG because of my personal interest in the subject dating from my days when I worked in healthcare.
