 Dear Rotarians,

I have a super cool opportunity for the District specifically and the Rotary Foundation as a whole. We have a dynamite new Rotarian in our Club who is an accomplished sports writer and novelist. Marjorie Lewis has recently published her Historical Novel “When the Men Were Gone” which is centered around the first female football coach in the state of Texas! The book is phenomenal!

Ms. Lewis stated, "Between January 14-20, for every book sold (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, independent book sellers, Costco), I will donate every cent of my per-book royalty (it must be a book because Kindle sales are not recorded), which is roughly $1."

We'll need Rotarians to also get the support of their connections outside of Rotary. Funds donated will benefit the Rotary Literacy Program.

Additionally, Ms. Lewis will be featured at a book signing at the Southlake Barnes and Noble on Saturday, January 26th from 1-3 pm and will be interviewed by Scott Murray, an Emmy Award winning sports journalist. Stop by and show your fellow Rotarian your support! The day of the event, we'll have a drawing for a $200 gift card to Barnes & Noble. Each copy of When the Men Were Gone sold that day at Barnes & Noble will be good for one entry into the drawing. If someone buys two books, they get two entries, and so forth. Should be fun!

Yours in service,
