This years pandemic altered Four Way Test Speech Contests turned out better than ever with 25 club contests and 2 regional contests that ended Saturday April 10, 2021. The finals will take place May 15th.

The winners of the March 27th and April 10th Regionals will compete virtually in the District 5790 Contest Finals on May 15th. Many kudo's to all that made these contests so successful including the contest coordinators from the 25 clubs and the judges, contestants and school coordinators from each club. But, in particular, we need to recognize the District 5790 Contest Chair Lori Richardson and Zoom Master Carlo Capua for staging two very effective Regional Contests.

The quality of speeches has been phenomenal and all of the speakers did very well.  It’s so hard to choose winners when they are all very good. However, we believe our judges did a tremendous job!

The District Finals for the Four Way Test Speech Contest will take place May 15th via Zoom at 10AM.  The top 3 students from each Regional contest will be competing—a total of 6 students.  The 4th place finishers will be available as backups in case one of their colleagues are unable to compete. Contestants will receive the link when it’s closer to the contest and hopefully many of you can watch either via Zoom or on FB Live.  You will not regret one minute of watching these students! The District Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/rotary5790) will also have the recorded contest posted for those unable to view the livestream event.

THANKS for all you and your clubs have done to make the opportunities for these kids to compete.  It was a great contest but without your club contests it would not have happened. It has been hard this year to get things going with the schools and students.  We salute all for pulling it together.
