Our Mission:

To Provide for less resource settings appropriate wheelchairs in the most effective and sustainable way.

Demand for wheelchairs is significant.

In any given country, based on WHO statistics, 10% of the population is handicapped and 10% of them are in need of a wheelchair (1% of the world population).
Currently 70 Millions wheelchairs are needed in the world.
In 2003, it was estimated that 20 million of those requiring a wheelchair for mobility did not have one.
There are indications that only a minority of those in need of wheelchairs has access to them, and of these very few have access to an appropriate wheelchair.

Let’s get to work, we nearly eradicated Polio from the world, let’s make a difference on wheelchairs.

Purpose of this Website:

The purpose of this site is to become the registry of all Rotarians involved in wheelchair activities. We are hoping by sharing experiences, pooling resources and sharing expertise, Rotary is better served and we will make a difference.  We will be more effective from lessons learned from other Rotarians  and more efficient by maximizing impact and minimizing resources.
