Derek Ehrhardt to be one of four participants in the Saturday Evening End Polio Panel Discussion 
Derek Ehrhardt is an epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and has been with the agency since 2006.   He currently serves as Lead for the Eastern Mediterranean Region Polio Team in the Global Immunization Division.  His team has responsibility for implementing CDC’s strategies to support polio eradication efforts in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, including Afghanistan and Pakistan, where polio remains endemic.  
 
Prior to joining CDC, Derek  was faculty at Johns Hopkins University and led the building of emergency departments in West Bank and Gaza from 2002 - 2005.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Marquette University and two Master’s degrees in Public Health and Nursing from Johns Hopkins University.
