Selected by outgoing District Governor Jon Bullock, the Governor’s Cup recognizes a club whose service, generosity, fellowship, and overall impact exemplify Rotary at its best. Arlington Sunrise distinguished itself through exceptional work across nearly every area of club service.
The club’s community service efforts began with a Christmas backpack project and have grown into a community-wide initiative serving families from Title I elementary schools who might otherwise go without during the holiday season. Through its Business of Giving model, the club uses a thoughtful, business-like approach to coordinate the collection and distribution of toys, candy, household supplies, and other necessities.
Arlington Sunrise also demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to The Rotary Foundation, achieving an average of $1,329 in giving per member during the Rotary year.
Beyond its impressive record of service and generosity, the club is known throughout the District for its lively breakfast meetings, welcoming fellowship, and fun, energetic spirit.
Club President Alan Walter accepted the Governor’s Cup from outgoing District Governor Jon Bullock on behalf of the club.
Congratulations to Arlington Sunrise Rotary Club on this well-earned recognition and an outstanding year of service above self.
