Read how the Grapevine Rotary Club promotes vocations.

·         Spirit Awards - Students from Grapevine Middle School  that exhibit Service Above Self and are recognized by teachers and administrators.  The nominated students are honored at the end of each six weeks.  Rotarian Debi Meek gifts them with 2 movie tickets each.   Then we have the students come every quarter to a Rotary meeting to be recognized in front of club members.
·         Vocational Service Awards  - We recognize and honor a policeman and fireman each year that exhibits Service above Self.  It has been suggested that we add a teacher to this list as well.
·         Ken Diehm Award - Ken was a member of our club that truly lived his life in service to others.   The club accepts nominations from the community for individuals who go above and beyond to serve others.   We honor all of the nominees and their spouse every year at a Rotary meeting.   The winner is given a nice plaque and a charity donation in their name.  Ken's mother and wife also attend and are recognized.
·         RITE Program -  We promote the international exchange of an adult (usually a teacher) from our area and are always looking for opportunities to host an individual to Grapevine. This year, we had a teacher come inbound  to Grapevine from Buenos Aires and a Grapevine Middle School teacher, Jessica Gonzales went outbound to Buenos Aires in July.  She spoke at the club yesterday and showed us slides of her travels there!  It was truly an adventure of a lifetime for her! We ae hoping to send another teacher again this year!
