Susie McAlister from the Arlington Club Receives the Rotary Builder Award
Susie McAlister was born in Fort Worth.  Her grandfather, Sam Wine, was the first president of this Club.  After graduating from Arlington High School, she cheered for Arlington State College and then the University of Texas at Arlington before graduating from TCU.  She taught Art and coached cheerleading for many years in Midland where she was in Junior League with Laura Bush before moving back to Arlington in 2001 to care for her mother.

Susie worked for Special Olympics in Fort Worth where she started their annual fundraiser, “Steaks and Stetsons.” Today, she attends grandkids’ events, and serves on the Arlington Veterans Day Observance Committee. She also serves on the boards of Theatre Arlington, Advocates for Special People, and Rotary.  As the Club Secretary, Susie is the glue that holds our Club together.  She is always thoughtful in her contribution to our Club and her work behind the scenes makes the day-to-day flow of our Club seamless.  We are very lucky to have Susie McAlister!
