District Governor Peter Scott announces the following 2019-2020 District 5790 Rotary Awards Recognition Awards
 
 
District 5790 Recognition Program
Ceremony to be held at District Conference in February 2021.
 
Governor's Award
2019-2020
 
Each of the 9 sections of the Governor's Vibrant Club Award - 2019 -2020 Club Achievement Report must be completed and clubs must have fulfilled the minimum number of items in 7 of the sections to qualify for the Governor’s  Award. The Governor's Vibrant Club Award Achievement Report must have been completed no later than 6/30/20 to qualify for the award.

Additionally, each club must complete the Rotary Club Central Goals for the club by 6/30/20 and have updated the achievement of those goals and recorded the clubs service project achievement in Rotary Club Central for the year through June 30, 2020.
 
Governors Award - Club Report criteria
 
I Community Service (Complete 4 to qualify)
  1. Does your club have an active committee and Chair?
  2. Did your club complete a Community Assessment?
  3. Did your club increase the number of members participating in community service projects?
  4. Did your club complete at least 1 community service project?
  5. Did your club create a new community service project this year?
  6. Did your club partner with another club or clubs on a community service project?
  7. Did your Community Service Chair attend District Assembly (4/27/2019) or Vibrant Club Workshop (August 17, 2019)?
 
 
II Foundation (Complete either section A or B to qualify)
  1. Complete the “District 5790 Foundation Excellence” Award, OR
  2. Complete 5 to qualify
  1. Did your club appoint an active chair/committee?
  2. Does 100% of your club participate in EREY?
  3. Did you have an increase in Paul Harris Society members?
  4. Did you have an increase in Paul Harris Fellows, PHF+’s?
  5. Did you have an increase in the number of Major Donors and/or Benefactors?
  6. Did you club participate in a Global Grant this year?
  7. Did your club participate in a District Grant this Year?
  8. Did at least 50% of your club members attend the District Foundation Gala (November 2, 2019)?
  9. Did the majority of your Foundation Committee attend the Vibrant Club Workshop (Aug 17, 2019).
  10.  Did your Foundation Chair attend District Assembly (4/27/2019)?
 
 
III International Service (Complete 4 to qualify)
  1.  Did you appoint an active chair/committee?
  2.  Did your club participate in an International Service Project?
  3. Did your International Service Chair attend District Assembly (4/27/2019)?
  4.  Did your club partner with another club in an International Service Project?
  5. Was your club awarded a grant for your international project?
 
 
 IV Public Image (Complete 4 to qualify)
  1. Did you appoint an active Public Image chair/committee?
  2. Is your club using the Rotary Brand as defined in Rotary.org for all its publications?
  3. Did your club have a website for the year and did you maintain the club’s website during the year (e.g. calendar, speakers, project information and pictures, etc.)?
  4. Does your club have a Social Media page that has at least 1 post per week?
  5. Did your club send press releases for its projects and fund raisers this past year to local news sources?
  6. Did your Public Image Chair attend District Assembly (4/27/2019 or Vibrant Club Workshop (Aug 17, 2019)?
  7. Did the majority of your PI committee attend the Foundation, Membership and PI Workshop (August 17, 2019)?
 
 
V Club Culture (Complete 2 to quality)
  1. Did you appoint an active chair/committee?
  2. Has your club performed a Rotary Health Check this year and established a plan for the areas of need?
  3. Has your club performed a member satisfaction survey this year?
  4. Did at least one of your club members attend the IFL session during the Vibrant Club Workshop (August 17, 2019)?
 
VI Club Service (Complete 4 to qualify)
  1. Did you appoint an active chair/committee?
  2. Did your club have a Strategic Plan for this year?
  3. Did your club have an Assembly or Retreat during the year?
  4. Do you hold regular (monthly) Board Meetings?
  5. Did you hold a club assembly at least 2 times throughout the year?
  6. Did your Club Service Chair attend District Assembly (4/27/19)?
  7. Did at least 75% of your board attend District Assembly (4/27/2019)?
 
VII Membership (Complete 4 to qualify)
  1.  Did you appoint an active chair/committee?
  2.  Did your club have a net gain of at least 1 member?
  3.  Did your club membership retention increase from last year?  If over 90% in the previous year, did you maintain it?
  4.  Did 100% of new members participate in New Member’s Orientation
  5.  Has your club established an Engagement process and recognition?
  6. Did your Membership Chair attend District Assembly (4/17/19)?
  7. Did the majority of your membership attend the Vibrant Club Workshop (Aug 17, 2019)?
 
 
VIII New Generations (Youth) (Complete 2 to qualify)
  1.  Did you appoint an active chair/committee?
  2.  Did your club participate in Youth Exchange (inbound or outbound)?
  3.  Did your club participate in starting a new Community Rotary Club?
  4.  Does your club sponsor an Interact Club?
  5.  Does your club sponsor a community Rotaract Club?
  6. Did your New Generations Chair attend District Assembly (4/27/2019) or Vibrant Club Workshop (Aug 17, 2019)?
 
IX Vocational (Complete 4 to qualify)
  1.  Did you recognize/award teachers at your ISD?
  2.  Did you recognize/award your local Police?
  3.  Did you recognize/award your Firefighters?
  4.  Did you recognize/award any affiliated College Personnel?
  5.  Did your club hold a Four Way Speech Contest?
  6.  Did you host a Job Fair for Youth/Underemployed?
  7.  Did you host a vocational activity different from any of the above?
  8.  Did your Vocational Director attend District Assembly (4/27/2019) or the Vibrant Club Workshop (Aug 17, 2019)?

Completion of the criteria must be submitted by June 30, 2020. This is done online by submission of the District 5790 Governor's Vibrant Club Award 2019-2020 Club Achievement Report.  This report is an editable document and can be found by clicking here.
 
 
 
 
 
Foundation Excellence Award - Club Criteria
 
Foundation (Qualify in at least 5 of the following 7 Sections)
 
  1. Foundation Committee & Events (at least 3 in this section)
    1. Club appointed an active Foundation chair and committee.
b. At least two members attended TRF sessions at Assembly.
c. At least one-member attended TRF sessions at Seminar.
d.  20% of club members attended Rotary Foundation Gala.
e. Did club sponsor a table (10 seats) at the Gala.
  1. Annual Program Fund (at least 2 in this section)
    1. EREY Club? ($100 per capita at least $25 per member)
    2. Increase in Sustaining members? ($100 per member)?
    3. Sustaining Club? (at least $100 from each member)
  2.  End Polio (at least 2 in this section)
    1. At least $25 per capita to End Polio
    2. Polio Society Club ($100 per capita club member)
    3. Did your club hold or attend a World Polio Day event?
