An educator, motivator, and mentor whose has led countless individuals to excel their past their expectations and dreams.
 
He was the first black coach hired at Permian High School in the 80's. Dr. Hearne played a vital part in the lives of those football players who the film “Friday Night Lights” was all about. As Assistant Offensive Line, Defensive Line, and Strength & Condition coach, he instilled a love of honor and sportsmanship in the lives of the young men he coached. 

Dr. Hearne was named Outstanding Principal of the Year for the Ector County Independent ISD in 1994 and Administrator of the Year for the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD in 2008. The Dropout Prevention Program he established as the Director of Student Attendance was recognized by “Texas School Business” magazine as the best prevention program in Texas in December of 2010.

He is happily married to Callie, and they reside in Arlington, Texas. They have five grown children and three grandchildren.
